Hawaii HTA releases midyear marketing update for North America By Shane Nelson / July 13, 2015 Share 1 -- Hawaii tourism stakeholders can view an update on the destination’s North American marketing efforts and travel agent training schedule in a YouTube video released this month by the Hawaii Tourism Authority (HTA) and the Hawaii Visitors and Conventions Bureau (HVCB). The HTA typically provides in-person updates from all of its marketing contractors in the spring and again in late summer at the Hawaii Tourism Conference, which is scheduled for Aug. 27 and 28. But officials wanted to offer some additional updates in 2015 to keep partners better informed, according to HTA President and CEO George Szigeti. “By creating a short news-style format, we thought the videos would be more interesting and engaging for our partners and also allow them to view the markets of their interest at their leisure,” he added in a statement. The HVCB’s North American video features Jay Talwar, senior vice president and chief marketing officer for the organization, and Robyn Basso, senior director of travel industry partnerships, and provides viewers with the latest visitor arrivals data and Hawaii travel trends along with upcoming promotions, marketing opportunities, and travel agent training events for the second half of 2015.
