Hawaii HTA votes in favor of Pro Bowl offer By Shane Nelson / March 09, 2009 Share 1 -- On March 6, the Hawaii Tourism Authority voted in favor of a proposal from the NFL concerning the location of the league's 2011 and 2012 all-star games. On Feb. 26 the HTA board first rejected the offer, which would bring the Pro Bowl back to Honolulu's Aloha Stadium in 2011 and 2012 at a cost of $4 million. Since then the NFL had reportedly rejected a counterproposal made by the HTA that included hosting both games after the Super Bowl. The 2010 Pro Bowl will be played in Miami one week prior to the championship game. During the Feb. 26 vote, some of the HTA board members expressed reservations about the TV ratings of an all-star game played a week before the Super Bowl.
