The documents, compiled by the agency's research division, will compile key statistical data and analysis on hotel stays throughout the Aloha State. The HTA recently secured the rights to publish the information, which is gathered by STR, a market research company that analyzes data pertaining to the hospitality industry. "We are pleased to assume this important responsibility and provide Hawaii's tourism stakeholders with up-to-date hotel performance information and analysis on a consistent, monthly basis," George D. Szigeti, HTA president and CEO said. "We see this as a service that will help industry partners to better understand the interests and trends of guests seeking hotel accommodations in Hawaii."The first monthly report was published Nov. 28, and each one will include data on hotel occupancy, average daily rate and revenue per available room on a statewide level and for Oahu, Maui County, Kauai and the island of Hawaii. The data for key resort areas, Waikiki, Wailea, Lahaina-Kaanapali-Kapalua and Kohala Coast will also be broken out.
