Honolulu finished fifth in TripAdvisor’s ranking of top 25 U.S. destinations and 20th on its list of top 25 world destinations, a pair of distinctions earned during the website’s 2012 Travelers Choice awards.
The town of Lahaina, on Maui’s west coast, and Kailua-Kona, on the Big Island of Hawaii, finished 21st and 25th, respectively, on the Top 25 U.S. destinations ranking.
Award winners were chosen based on millions of reviews by TripAdvisor travelers and determined by the popularity of destinations, based on the website users’ favorites and most highly rated locations.
London finished first in the world destination ranking, and New York was at the top of the U.S. destinations list.
