By Shane Nelson
Hawaiian Airlines transported more than 855,000 passengers in March, an increase of better than 10% over the same month last year.

The carrier’s revenue-producing miles were also up substantially, jumping 23.8% year over year, to more than 1.1 billion, according to figures recently released by the company.

Hawaiian’s load factor decreased, however, dropping 3.4 percentage points, to 81.3% in March.

Through the first three months of 2013, the airline has transported nearly 2.4 million passengers, up 8.1% year over year, with a load factor of 81%, off 2.8 percentage points from the same period in 2012.
