The 12th annual Kauai Polynesian Festival, presented by the Garden Isle’s Kamanawa Foundation, will kick off May 24 and feature a host of cultural events, workshops, Polynesian food and dance competitions.

Held at the Vidinha Stadium soccer field in Lihue, the three-day event schedule is loaded with Tahitian, Maori, Samoan and Hawaiian entertainment, including hands-on arts-and-crafts demonstrations and traditional dance lessons, food booths, Hawaiian games and live music.

The festival will also host several local halau hula, or dance schools, and a range of Polynesian dance exhibitions, including a Samoan fire knife competition on May 25.

The entrance fee is $10 per day, or $25 for all three days. Children under 5 are free.
