Hawaii NFL commissioner expects a decision soon on Pro Bowl site By Shane Nelson / May 28, 2012 Share 1 -- NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell plans to meet with the league’s players' association before deciding the location of the 2013 NFL Pro Bowl, according to a May 23 Honolulu Star Advertiser report. “New Orleans and Honolulu are the two sites” still under consideration, the commissioner said at press conference in Atlanta May 22. “I hope to be making a decision pretty quickly.” The 2012 NFL Pro Bowl, played at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, drew 15,000 travelers to Oahu specifically for the game and generated $25.3 million in visitor spending, according to estimates by the Hawaii Tourism Authority. The football all-star game has been played in Honolulu every year since 1980 with one exception: the 2010 Pro Bowl was played a week before the Super Bowl in Miami. The 2013 Super Bowl will be played in New Orleans.
