Roberts Hawaii and GreenCar Hawaii have teamed up to offer Kauai travelers express shuttle service from the Lihue Airport to three Poipu-area hotels, where visitors can then rent electric vehicles by the hour.
The car-sharing transportation partnership between Roberts and GreenCar is offered through the online booking services at the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa, the Koa Kea Hotel & Resort and the Marriott’s Waiohai Beach Club.
“It’s a more convenient, full service transportation alternative for Poipu that takes cars off the road,” Warren Doi, co-founder of GreenCar, said in a statement.
“Our customers have been grateful for the convenience of an on-demand rental service, the cost savings of paying only for a car when they need it, the experience of driving clean-energy vehicles and an opportunity to help keep Kauai green.
"Adding the shuttle service makes their visit to Poipu so much easier.”
Along with the express shuttle service, Roberts will meet reservation holders at the Lihue Airport baggage claim with shell lei and also provide assistance with luggage.
GreenCar Hawaii rents electric vehicles through online reservations at its website and self-service kiosks at hotels and timeshare properties on both Kauai and Oahu.
