The Hilo and east Hawaii Island areas have a variety of lodging and accommodations, from midrange hotels to economical bed-and-breakfast inns. In Hilo, most of the hotels are centered on Banyan Drive, which fronts Hilo Bay on the Waiakea Peninsula.
Outside of town, there are several inns located in rural areas of east Hawaii and along the Hamakua coast, and there are several bed-and-breakfast inns near Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. The Puna and Kau districts also have a number of country-style bed-and-breakfast inns.
