Five kilometers north of the Zocalo, on a narrow bricked road in the midst of a residential neighborhood, this little hotel is a modest address for those who don't mind being far from the tourist sights.

Guarded by a privacy wall, the entry under a peaked gate leads to what looks like someone's house if it weren't for the hotel sign.

Appearances can be deceiving, and they are here. It may look like an oversized Florida condominium from the outside, but the interior is cool, airy and light ...
