Stately, historic Hotel Schweizerhof is conveniently located just across the street from Zurich's main train station and on the corner of the city's main historic pedestrian shopping street, Bahnhofstrasse.
This venerable hotel opened in 1876 as Hotel National, just as the area around Zurich's train station was developing for distinguished businesses, conventions and upscale shopping. From the start, it attracted many prestigious visitors. In 1908, the hotel got a new art nouveau facade, which it still exhibits today.
