I'm surprised that I had never heard of a PANK until Travel Weekly told us all about this segment of the traveling public ["The PANK market a promising one in multigenerational travel," Jan. 7], but I was just as surprised that you left out PUNKs [professional uncle, no kids], for I've been one since my early 20s.
My sister's son, David, is only 11 years younger than me. My first trip with him was when he was 13, and I took him to Washington, D.C., followed by many other destinations. Now I am taking his sons, Ziv and Maor, on cruises, to Disney World and more recently to London for the opening of a play. Just last week I took a niece by marriage from New York to her cousins' wedding in Israel.
Soon, a new generation will be told, "Just wait until you are old enough to be taken to some far-away destination by Uncle Bob."
