TaxBack opens office at Acapulco Airport

By Gay Nagle Myers
TaxBack opened a module at the Acapulco Airport to process refunds of value-added taxes for international travelers.

Acapulco is the eighth airport in Mexico to receive a TaxBack module.

Reimbursable purchases must be made at TaxBack-affiliated shops in Acapulco (identified by a sticker on the door) and must be over 1,200 pesos (approximately $90) and no more than 3,000 pesos (approximately $230) if paid for with cash.

There is no limit if purchased with a credit card.

To receive the tax reimbursement on purchases, departing travelers visit the TaxBack counter to process their refund. Once the request has been validated with receipts from purchases, travelers receive their refund via a transfer to a debit or credit card.
