A tourism protection unit has been launched in Namibia’s coastal tourist hot spot of Swakopmund, the second of its kind in the country.

At least five officers, including detectives, will assist tourists with things such as accidents or criminal incidents. Operating hours will be from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, local time, and an emergency after-hours assistance number (085-444) has also been created.
