The 9/11 Memorial at the World Trade Center site reopened Tuesday, one week after Superstorm Sandy flooded the site with up to 10 feet of water.
The storm spared the reflective fountains, which ring the names of those who died in the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001 and Feb. 26, 1993.
The museum, which is still under construction, also was spared, as were its artifacts that include the partial spire of the North Tower's antenna.
The memorial will be open daily on a limited basis from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. until full power is restored to the area, which will permit longer opening hours at the 16-acre site.
Some areas, including the visitor center at 90 West St. across from the memorial which remains closed, are still operating on generators.
Tickets reserved before the storm will be honored, and new visitors will be admitted on a first-come, first-served basis.
