Thousands of runners from around the world are expected to participate in the Dec. 2 Las Vegas Rock ’n’ Roll Marathon and Half Marathon. The event takes place in the evening, giving runners the opportunity to enjoy the lights on Las Vegas Boulevard, which will be closed to traffic for the race.
The Rock ‘n’ Roll race festivities include bands located at every mile, a run-through wedding chapel, a number of running Elvises and Santas, and post-race events held at various nightlife venues. Registration is open through Nov. 25. Marathon entry costs $185, and half-marathon entry costs $175. In addition, event organizers are offering a 20% discount and matching 20% donation to Hurricane Sandy relief efforts to any NYC Marathon entrants.
