Las Vegas 2013 visitor totals down from 2012 record

By Jerry Limone
Las Vegas said it drew 39.7 million visitors in 2013, about 58,000 shy of the city record set in 2012.

The meetings-and-conventions industry reached a five-year high with 5.1 million delegates, a 3.3% increase from the prior year and the highest convention attendance since 2008, said the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.

The city’s average daily hotel rate increased $3 to nearly $111, said the LVCVA. Hotel occupancy held steady at 84.3%.
