Miami says it set record for visitors in 2012

Greater Miami drew a record 13.9 million overnight visitors in 2012, according to the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau.

The CVB said the total visitor count increased 3.5%, international visitors rose 5.2% to 6.8 million, and domestic visitors increased 1.8% to 7.1 million.

Visitors spent a record $21.8 billion and a record 13.4 million hotel room nights were sold, the CVB said.
