Several trails at Rocky Mountain National Park in Estes Park, Colo., reopened to the public June 16.

Parts of the park were in the path of the Big Meadows fire that was sparked by lightning on June 10.

A total of 604 acres burned in the fire, although the fire did not threaten any structures or communities, according to park officials.

Further south in Colorado Springs where the Black Forest fire already burned more than 500 homes, several roads remain closed. The fire is 75% contained, according to fire officials.

Most attractions in Colorado Springs are open, although the Royal Gorge Bridge & Park, 58 miles from Colorado Springs, remains closed and rafting trips are not operating on the Royal Gorge.

Alternative trips are available on other parts of the Arkansas River, according to the Colorado Springs Vacation and Tourism Information office.
