Universal Orlando, in partnership with Warner Bros. Entertainment, is expanding the Wizarding World of Harry Potter with a new themed environment called Diagon Alley. It is scheduled to open in 2014.
The idea behind the new area is to bring to life some of the experiences and places found in and around London in the Harry Potter books and films.
In addition to Diagon Alley, there will be a London-themed area, and both will be located in Universal's Islands of Adventure theme park, home to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
Guests will be able to travel between "London" and the Wizarding World's Hogsmeade area aboard a Hogwarts Express.
When complete, the new Diagon Alley and London-themed area will feature shops, a restaurant and an attraction based on Gringotts bank from the Harry Potter stories.
Additional details about Diagon Alley will be released over time, Universal Orlando said.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter -- Hogsmeade opened at Universal's Islands of Adventure in June 2010.
