American Cruise Lines creates Twain-themed cruise

By Michelle Baran

American Cruise Lines has added a Mark Twain tribute cruise to its lineup for the new 150-passenger paddlewheeler, the Queen of the Mississippi, launching in August.

The eight-day cruise departs on Sept. 15, starting and ending in St. Louis. It plans to honor the author’s life and works with a visit to his childhood hometown in Hannibal, Mo.

Additionally, passengers will experience entertainment from a Mark Twain impersonator; there will be a first-edition copy of “Life on the Mississippi” onboard the ship; and guests will receive copies of “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer” and “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.”
