Thirty-eight members of Tourism Cares went to Peru earlier this month for its first-ever Global Outreach program.
The group met in Cuzco for an educational forum with like-minded members of Peru's travel industry, who have formed Turismo Cuida, to discuss efforts to preserve and sustain important heritage sites in the country.
After spending a day in the Inca Sacred Valley, capped by a short visit to Machu Picchu, the groups reunited in Cuzco to help restore the city's central market, Mercado San Pedro.
