The rail line to Machu Picchu is slated to reopen on March 29, nearly two months after flood damage closed the rail line, according to Peruvian news agency Andina.

Completion of the rail line is contingent on no further heavy rain in the region, like the late-January deluge that flooded the Machu Picchu area and damaged the rail line.

The Machu Picchu train is owned by Peru Rail and is the only way to get to the site besides hiking the Inca Trail. The rail closure has slowed Peru tourism.

Starting March 29, visitors will be able to travel by bus to the town of Piscaccuho and then take the train to Aguas Calientes at the base of Machu Picchu, Andina reported.
