AA increases flight options from Chicago, Dallas, JFK

By Kate Rice

American Airlines is launching service to cities in Asia, Europe and Latin America through its Dallas Fort Worth, Chicago O'Hare and New York Kennedy hubs.

New service includes:

  • On April 2, flights between Dallas and Lima, Peru.
  • On April 11, flights between Chicago and Dusseldorf, Germany, and Kennedy and Dublin, Ireland.
  • On May 9, flights between Dallas and Seoul, South Korea.

On Feb. 14, American will also add new domestic service, through its regional affiliates American Eagle and ExpressJet, from Dallas Fort Worth to the following cities: Beaumont/Port Arthur, Texas; Columbia, Mo.; and Fargo, N.D; as well as Chicago O'Hare–Columbia, Mo., service.

All flights can be booked beginning Nov. 4.

The airline, which is in the midst of Chapter 11 reorganization, said that it is seeing increases in revenue and yield in its international markets. For the first nine months of the year, unit revenue performance in the Pacific was up 13.3%, driven by increased demand for premium cabins, greater revenues from Asia point-of-sale and joint selling efforts with joint business partner, Japan Airlines. It reported a 7.2% unit increase in Latin America.
