United Airlines is putting its first Boeing 787 back into service today with a flight from Houston to Chicago.

The flight is carrying United customers plus United CEO Jeff Smisek and Boeing CEO Jim McNerney.

Boeing 787s were grounded worldwide in the middle of January because of a faulty battery design.

On June 10, United will resume flying the 787s on international routes, including Denver-Tokyo.
