Flights canceled as nor'easter approaches NYC

A nor'easter that is expected to bring high winds and a mix of snow and rain to the New York area has prompted airlines to cancel more than 1,100 flights at Kennedy, Newark, LaGuardia and Philadelphia airport on Wednesday, according to flight-tracking website FlightAware.

United and regional partner ExpressJet, which do most of their flying out of Newark, reported the most cancellations, with 205 and 191, respectively, FlightAware reported. American canceled 164 flights.
