InterJet plans to offer daily nonstop flights from John Wayne Airport in Orange County, Calif., to Mexico City and Guadalajara in mid-October.

The carrier will be the second to offer service to Mexico from the airport. In June, AirTran began daily nonstop flights from John Wayne to Mexico City and Cabo San Lucas.

The Mexico City-based low-fare carrier plans on expanding to more U.S. destinations, including Miami and San Antonio.

Its daily Mexico City-New York service launched on Aug. 6.
