LAN moves closer to American at JFK

By Kenneth Kiesnoski
LAN Airlines switched terminals at New York’s Kennedy Airport, while new affiliate LAN Colombia exchanged one South Florida gateway for another.

LAN has moved from Terminal 4 to the newer Terminal 8, home to Oneworld alliance partner American Airlines. The relocation will give LAN customers easier access to American’s Admirals Club lounges.

In November, American deepened its partnership with LAN when it received approval from the U.S. Department of Transportation to codeshare with LAN Ecuador.

Meanwhile, LAN Colombia, launched last December after LAN acquired and rebranded Colombian carrier Aires, ended service from Bogota to Fort Lauderdale, replacing the route with Bogota-Miami.
