More than 1,000 Dallas flights canceled due to storm

Due to an ice storm in North Texas, 989 flights into and out of Dallas/Fort Worth Airport were canceled on Friday, according to flight-tracking website FlightAware.

Also, 65 flights were canceled at Dallas Love Field, where Southwest Airlines is the primary operator. American Airlines and American Eagle accounted for most of the canceled flights at DFW.

On Thursday, 222 flights into and out of DFW were canceled.

Thursday was also difficult in the New York area because of heavy fog. At LaGuardia, 245 flights into and out of the airport were canceled. At Newark, 147 were canceled.
