Southwest gets slot for Reagan-Hobby

The Transportation Department (DOT) awarded a pair of slots at Washington’s Reagan National Airport to Southwest that the carrier intends to use for a daily roundtrip to Houston Hobby.

The regulated time slot, relinquished by Spirit, was also sought by JetBlue for service to Jacksonville and beyond to San Juan and by US Airways for service to Oklahoma City, but the DOT said Southwest’s proposal offered greater public benefits.
