Travel-review leader TripAdvisor and car-rental companies Hertz Global Holdings and Avis Budget Group are among travel companies that postponed their third-quarter earnings releases from Tuesday to Thursday because of the effects of Hurricane Sandy.
TripAdvisor, which was spun off from online travel agency Expedia late last year, will hold its earnings call on Nov. 1 at 5 p.m. Eastern time.
Hertz rescheduled its call to Nov. 1 at 10 a.m. Eastern time, while smaller competitor Avis Budget will release earnings at market close Thursday afternoon and host its call Friday morning at 8:30 a.m. Eastern time.
TripAdvisor is based in Newton, Mass., about 10 miles west of Boston. Hertz is headquartered in Park Ridge, N.J., while Avis Budget is based about 30 miles southwest of there, in Parsippany, N.J.
