Enterprise continues European expansion with franchise deal in Turkey

|

Enterprise Holdings reached a franchise agreement that will allow the company’s brands (Enterprise, National and Alamo) to enter Turkey.

Enterprise reached a deal with Gurbaslar Automotive Group’s Yes Oto Kiralama division, which has more than 2,000 vehicles in 43 locations across Turkey.

Enterprise has reached franchise agreements this year in 19 European markets, in addition to Enterprise-owned networks in the U.K., Germany, France and Spain.

Enterprise is the largest of U.S. car-rental companies looking to boost revenue by increasing demand in an overseas car-rental market that’s more fragmented than in the U.S. Avis Budget Group acquired Avis Europe Plc in 2011 for about $1billion. More recently, Hertz Global Holdings, which acquired Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group for about $2.6 billion last year, bought out a 20% stake in China Auto Rental in April for a price that wasn’t disclosed.
