Corporate Travel Corporate agency veteran named ACTE’s executive director By Jerry Limone / May 18, 2010 Share 1 -- The Association of Corporate Travel Executives named Ron DiLeo, a former American Express vice president, as the group’s new executive director. He starts on July 1.DiLeo succeeds Susan Gurley, who stepped down last December after a four-year run as ACTE’s executive director.DiLeo’s career in travel management spans more than 30 years. He is currently the principal of In The Black, a consulting practice specializing in maximizing travel program and sales performance.Prior to forming the consultancy, DiLeo was chief commercial officer for OpenSkies, British Airways’ all-business-class airline. Before that, DiLeo was senior vice president and general manager of the Europe-Middle East-Africa region for American Express Business Travel.DiLeo came to American Express in 2003, when AmEx acquired Rosenbluth International, a company DiLeo was with for 25 years. He held numerous positions with Rosenbluth, rising to chief operating officer.According to outgoing ACTE President Richard Crum, the organization emphasized global experience and multinational achievements in travel management during its search for an executive director."Ron DiLeo is well-known within the profession for his drive, vision, and commitment to performance," Crum said.
