The Best Western Premier Petion-Ville near Port-au-Prince, Haiti, is scheduled to open in March, according to Rich Cortese, senior vice president of Caribbean operations and development for Aimbridge Hospitality, the company that will manage the hotel.

"This will be the first full-service, U.S.-affiliated chain hotel in Haiti," Cortese said.

The hotel will employ 110, the majority of whom are locals who have participated in hospitality-training programs in Haiti.

The seven-story, 106-room hotel property will offer WiFi access, meeting and conference space, concierge and butler services, a restaurant, a lobby bar, a pool, room service, a spa and private airport transfers.

Petion-Ville is a surburb of Port-au-Prince and is a short distance from the international airport.
