Carlson Rezidor opening new hotels in Caribbean, Latin America

By Gay Nagle Myers
Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group is expanding its presence in the Caribbean and Central and South America with four hotels under construction.

New properties will include the 124-room Radisson Aquatica Resort Barbados, opening in May; the 229-room Radisson Grenada Beach Resort, opening in St. George's in the third quarter of the year; the 243-room Radisson Port of Spain, Trinidad, opening later this summer; and the 126-room Park Hotel by Radisson Vespucio, opening in Santiago, Chile in 2014.

The hotels are in addition to the recently opened 135-room Park Inn by Radisson San Jose, Costa Rica.

The addition of these five properties will boost Carlson Rezidor's portfolio in the Caribbean and Central and South America to a total of 50 hotels with 7,939 rooms in operation and under development, according to Bob Kleinschmidt, chief development officer and CFO, Americas.
