The first Wyndham Grand in Chicago officially opened at what used to be Hotel 71 on the city's East Wacker Drive near the Chicago River.
The renamed Wyndham Grand Chicago Riverfront, which is owned by Hospitality Properties Trust, has been managed by Wyndham since last November.
The 39-story property, which has 334 rooms, is partway through a multimillion-dollar renovation, which will include the addition of a 4,700-square-foot ballroom by the end of the year. Once the renovations are done, the property will have more than 18,000 square feet of meetings space.
