Choice Hotels International has launched SkyTouch Technology, a division that develops and markets technology products for hotels.
With the launch comes the unveiling of SkyTouch Hotel OS, a cloud-based property- and rate-management solution for other hotel chains and independent properties.
Choice has been offering a property-management tool, ChoiceAdvantage, to its franchised hotels since 2003. SkyTouch “draws on the ChoiceAdvantage property-management system for handling reservations, guest stays and rates on any device with an Internet connection,” Choice said.
Choice claims that ChoiceAdvantage is the most widely used cloud-based property-management system in the world, with more than 5,500 installations in Choice-branded hotels worldwide.
Ric Leutwyler will lead SkyTouch Technology as division president. Leutwyler is an experienced executive who has held positions with Pegasus Solutions, Best Western and Cendant.
