Element hotels add phone-charging exercise cycles

By Danny King
Starwood's Element Hotels brand has added exercise cycles that can charge portable phones and tablet computers at the hotels’ fitness centers.

Element, which added its first pedal-powered charging stations at its Miami hotel earlier this year, has done the same with all of its 10 hotels.

Starwood, which launched Element in 2008, is looking to further position the extended-stay brand toward travelers who are health- and eco-conscious.

Starwood said in October that Europe’s first Element Hotel will open in Frankfurt in 2014.
