A 212-room Embassy Suites has opened in a downtown St. Louis building that formerly housed a Dillard’s department store.
The Embassy Suites St. Louis - Downtown takes up the middle floors of the century-old Laurel building, which has been rehabbed to include about 33,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor and luxury condominiums on the top floors.
Developers are converting another old department store into an Embassy Suites, in Loisville, Ky. The hotel could open as soon as 2013.
There are two other Embassy Suites hotels in the St. Louis area.
