GHM will double portfolio with expansion into China, Europe

Chedi Club SuzhouSingapore-based luxury hotelier General Hotel Management Ltd. (GHM) will double the number of hotels under its management, as the company looks to enter both Europe and China.

GHM, whose only U.S. property is Miami's Setai South Beach, will enter China by early next year with the opening of Chedi Club Suzhou, a 36-room hotel atop Suzhou's tallest building. Also in 2013, GHM will open its first hotel in Europe, the Chedi Andermatt, which, at 169 rooms, will be the largest hotel in the group.

Founded in 1992, GHM has 10 hotels, including Chedi-branded hotels in Bali, Thailand and Oman, and Ananti-branded hotels in both North and South Korea.
