Sandals Resorts International reopened the Grand Pineapple Beach Negril on Dec. 14.
The reopening followed an overwhelming response from disappointed past guests to the announcement of the resort's closure last August.
When he announced the closing, Sandals Chairman Butch Stewart said that the property "no longer fits our model of offering the highest-quality product."
At the reopening, Stewart said, "We heard the voices and are thrilled to reopen this resort. Our guests' satisfaction is our priority, and we take their requests very seriously. It was with that in mind that we decided to preserve this charming Caribbean resort that serves a niche clientele looking for value without compromising quality."
The all-inclusive resort offers accommodations in 65 cottages and manor rooms along Negril's Seven Mile Beach.Follow Gay Nagle Myers on Twitter @gnmtravelweekly.
