Starwood Hotels & Resorts’ Luxury Collection will open its first hotel on China’s Hainan Island next month.
The Royal Begonia, which debuts Aug. 16, will have 142 rooms, the smallest of which will be about 700 square feet. The property sits on about 1,200 feet of beachfront on Haitang Bay.
Hainan Island is off the southeastern coast of China.
The hotel will be the third under Starwood’s Luxury Collection in China after Shanghai’s Hongta Hotel and the Astor Hotel in Tianjin.
Among the Luxury Collection’s other 75 hotels are Amsterdam’s Hotel Pulitzer and Seville’s Hotel Alfonso XIII.
