Best Western International plans to open a business hotel in Haiti late this summer.
The 105-room, seven-story hotel will be located in Petion-Ville, a hillside city southeast of the capital of Port-au-Prince.
The opening will mark the Caribbean debut of Best Western’s Premier, an upscale sub-brand.
Facilities will include a restaurant and lounge, banquet space, a pool and a spa.
Best Western is not the only hotel company coming to Haiti. Marriott International plans to open a 173-room hotel in Port-au-Prince in 2014.
Choice Hotels' plans to open two properties in Haiti -- first announced in January 2010 just days before a deadly earthquake -- remain on the table, although the timeline is unclear.
