Hard Rock International plans to open its first rock 'n' roll-themed hotels in China in 2015 after reaching a development agreement with golf-resort operator Mission Hills.

The Hard Rock Hotel Shenzhen will sit on almost 10 acres and will have 280 rooms as well as a fitness center, recording studio and nightclub.

Meanwhile, the Hard Rock Hotel Haikou, located on Hainan Island off the southeast coast of China, will have 250 rooms and will encompass more than eight acres.

Chain owner Seminole Hard Rock Entertainment has 140 restaurants and 18 hotel-casinos worldwide. The company is also planning for Hard Rock hotels in Mexico’s Riviera Maya and in Abu Dhabi in 2013 and 2014, respectively.

China-based Mission Hills oversees three golf-oriented luxury resorts in China. Late last year, Ritz-Carlton reached an agreement with Mission Hills to open a 201-key resort in Haikou by the end of next year.
