Hyatt Place under development in Times Square

By Danny King
New York City’s second Hyatt Place will open in late 2014, with developer 41st Midtown LLC reaching a management agreement with Stanford Hotels Corp.

The Hyatt Place Times Square will have about 130 rooms and will be located on 41st Street between Sixth Avenue and Broadway. Construction is set to start next year.

The select-service brand’s first New York City hotel, the Hyatt Place New York Midtown South, is scheduled to open in December.

That 185-room property, which is on West 36st Street between Fifth and Sixth avenues, is owned by Chesapeake Lodging Trust and will be managed by Real Hospitality Group.
