The downtown Los Angeles hotel that will be built at the site of the former Wilshire Grand will be 70 stories tall, making it the second-tallest building in Southern California, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Only the nearby U.S. Bank Tower building will be taller.
The yet-to-be-named luxury hotel will have a top-floor lobby as well as a restaurant and an infinity pool.
The 900-room hotel will occupy the top 43 floors of the building, while the lower floors will be taken up by retail and offices.
Korean Air is the developer, and Los Angeles-based architect A.C. Martin Partners is designing the building, which is scheduled to open in 2017.
