L.A.'s Kyoto Grand to become a Doubletree

By Danny King
Downtown Los Angeles’ Kyoto Grand Hotel and Gardens will be reflagged as a Doubletree by Hilton after undergoing a renovation that will be competed next spring.

Hilton signed a franchising and licensing agreement with the hotel’s owner, 120 South Los Angeles Street Hotel Operator LLC. Newport Beach, Calif.-based Rim Hospitality will manage the 430-room hotel.

Hilton didn’t disclose how much would be spent on the renovation of the hotel, which opened in 1977 as the New Otani Hotel and Garden.

The hotel is located in the city's Little Tokyo district.
