Le Meridien hotels in Africa and the Middle East will receive about $200 million in upgrades during the next three years.

Le Meridien parent Starwood Hotels and the hotel owners will upgrade 13 hotels: four in Dubai; three in Saudi Arabia; two each Cairo and Gabon; and one each in the United Arab Emirates and Mauritius.

A 350-room Le Meridien will open at Cairo's airport in September.
