The landmark Essex House overlooking New York’s Central Park is now the JW Marriott Essex House New York.

The hotel hosted more than 300 VIP guests last week for a star-studded grand opening of the property, which was previously part of the Dubai-based Jumeirah luxury brand.
Under that brand, the Essex House underwent a comprehensive $90 million renovation in 2007.
With a coveted address on Central Park South and a famed art deco sign that tops the 509-room, 40-story building, the Essex House opened in 1931 and has hosted a wide range of dignitaries and celebrities over the years.
