Omni Hotels & Resorts reached an agreement to buy five resorts from private-equity firm KSL Capital Partners, and will reflag the resorts under the Omni brand on July 1.
The acquisitions are Barton Creek Resort & Spa in Austin, Texas; La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.; Grove Park Inn in Asheville, N.C.; Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa in Rancho Mirage, Calif.; and The Homestead in Hot Springs, Va.
No purchase price was disclosed.
Omni will gain 2,362 rooms, 304,000 square feet of meeting space and a dozen golf courses with the acquisition.
La Costa, which is about 30 miles north of San Diego, has 611 rooms and recently received $50 million in renovations.
Grove Park Inn, which has 512 rooms, is undergoing a $25 million renovation, while the 483-room Homestead is undergoing a $26 million upgrade.
Barton Creek Resort and Rancho Las Palmas have 312 and 444 rooms, respectively.
Denver-based KSL is owner of the Squaw Valley Ski Resort in Lake Tahoe and part owner of San Diego’s iconic Hotel del Coronado.
Irving, Texas-based Omni has 40 U.S. hotels, plus two in Mexico and one in Canada.
